I make sex jokes when I run out of ideas. The past two comics have been sex jokes. PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER.

This comic is inspired by the Shuffle! bedsheet that I got about 2 weeks ago. While I only really did two drawings, I think the comic looks fairly ok. I'm especially happy with the first panel, but I probably should have put more posters on the wall.

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but I've playing around with Tina's appearance and attitude. Out of the three leads, she's the only one I don't have down completely, partly because I'm having trouble balancing my own fantasies with keeping you all entertained (AAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAA haa ha haha hah ah... oh boy) I should probably re-think her character again. I understand this is simply a gag comic, but I'd like for my characters to have some life in them. Also, girl's clothes are really hard to draw, and to think of. So far I've been stealing all of Tina's outfits from anime, manga and bishoujo games.

In other comic news, Mistakes of Youth may be getting a podcast! A friend and I recorded a pilot last night, which turned out just short of mediocre. However, just from that one experience I have already learned a lot. If this thing DOES happen, expect to hear about stuff pertaining to anime culture and the like. Episodes won't be regular and I'm not sure how long we'll be able to keep it up, but it should be an interesting experience. Look out for the podcast in the coming weeks (maybe)!

I recently bought the Gundam movie Char's Counterattack on a whim the otherday (along with volume 2 of Karin, and volume 9 of Trigun Maximum.) I had always been meaning to see it, but never got around to it. I liked it, but I was a tad bit disapointed. Most of it came from the fact that it tried to compress too much story into a short amount of time, and that it focused a bit too much on minor characters I didn't care about. It wasn't a bad movie by any means; the animation was wonderful, the battles were good and the music was good. I did feel that the story was a little weak, though. In about the first five minutes of the film, it's "ZOMG, CHAR'S DROPPING AN ASTEROID ON EARTH." I kind of wish there was some build up, or something. Maybe I was expecting too much. I'll watch it again some other time and see what I think then.

Honey and Clover II has become excellent. Episodes 8 and 9 have been wonderful. I think it's probably because I care more about Takemoto x Hagu issues than I care about the others. Not to say that the developments with Rika x Mayama weren't interesting (they are) but I think this arc is handled better. It could just because the director depicted Hagu's tragic accident so well. The use of Suga Shikao's Ringo Juice was perfect. Its upbeat and fast tone provided excellent contrast to the events happening on screen. It's almost as if the director did this so as to say that life won't always be sympathetic, and that these sorts of things usually happen very quickly. I would not have minded if a more "fitting" song was used, but the use of a song like Ringo Juice really makes the scene stick in my head because it's so unusual, but fitting in its own way. Also, is it just me or did they get a higher budget for H&C II?

The Dengeki Hime: Navel Special I got with my bedsheets is absolutely wonderful. 80+ pages filled with beautiful artwork, information on Navel games and 8 foldout posters. The promotional material for Really? Really! has me excited, so much so that I may actually buy it (despite the fact that my Japanese isn't nearly close to the point were I can play such a game.) I'll also get the CG set, too. I look forward to a lot of great h-scenes with Kaede, Primula and Nadashiko sensei. Kaede's friend Sakura is looking pretty hot, too. Here are some scans.

I've recently caught up with the NHK manga (well, at least to where the translations are) and I have to say that Hyper Self Pleasure (NOT SAFE FOR WORK AT ALL) is absolutely INSPIRING. I don't see what people mean about the 5th volume being OH SO DEPRESSING. It is kind of depressing, but most of it is hilarious. Or maybe I'm just blinded by HYPER SELF PLEASURE and Misaki popping out of the refrigerator with angel wings. It's probably that, because I remember a lot of the volume being pretty heavy. Still, not really depressing.

THERE IS A STILL A SLIM CHANCE OF A GENSHIKEN SEASON II, BUT IT IS LIKE A CANDLE IN THE WIND. Everyone should have probably heard by now, but volume 9 (!) of the Genshiken manga will come packed with a doujinshi and a drama CD featuring the voice of Ogiue. Now, for those who don't remember, Ogiue didn't really have a speaking roll (or a roll at all) in the Genshiken anime, so this has lead to speculation that since they have a voice of Ogiue, that a second season is still possible. Don't get your hopes up though. I already have, so much so that I made a gaijin 4koma about it. And, even though it's not Genshiken related, I made this one, too.

Anyway, that's it for this week. I'll be moving in 2 days, so that may effect comic production a bit.

thank god for Megami Magazine...

Ok, first off you can now see my video diaries in the misc. section. Not much to talk about.
